Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Kamui's sword is one enchanted with the ability to cause corruption in anyone who wields or is hit by it. It is inhabited by a weapon maiden known as Oryza. It gives them cancerous like growths and can only be temporarily destroyed by blessed weaponry, like the Righteous Sword. If you survive a strike from the blade, you will under go a mutation that varies among people, plants, and animals. The common traits are sickly pale/pinkish skin, red eyes, and an incurable bloodlust. The blade is made of a strong unknown metal that is permanently stained red, flesh growing from the bone hilt, topped off with red blinking eye.
Biography[edit | edit source]
It was forged a long time ago by the Original Spirits and used by Kamui. Kamui's sword was most likely something of an accident, given that Kamui is not actually a corrupt goddess. It turns out that since Kamui had to slay many other original spirits to become the main Canyon goddess, she felt pity. One of these spirits was named Oryza. She brought back Oryza to become a weapons maiden that entered the sword and corrupted it.
However, after Kamui sealed herself away, the ancients stole the sword, and used it to fight against the Holy Sword. This created a hundred million year fight amongst the numerous ancients, that ended in their nigh-extinction. It was then later wielded in the last part of the war by Zazin, who used it against the villages and Makani.
Its corruption is further perpetuated by Avera, Archa, Calamity, and other corrupting goddesses, allowing it to go through multiple incarnations. The current incarnation of the sword was created by Calamity and is named La Varna, and is inhabited by a divine form of Oryza named Revera. Later, Ryven becomes the next user of the sword, allowing her to gain power and learn about her purpose.
Kisai was struck by this sword, but manages to control the corrupting influence of it during fights.
Relation to Kas[edit | edit source]
