Barrier

From Wolf Scrapbook

Name Palo Duro Canyon Barrier
Geographical Place Around 1 mile from canyon edge
Inhabitants Humans Animals

Characteristics/Geography[edit | edit source]

The barrier of Palo Duro Canyon is an invisible wall or projection of sorts. Paranormal beings that exist within the canyon are unable to travel past the barrier. The reason given for why the barrier is where it is, is not known. A theory is that it lines the border of the territory that the Goddesses got in the compromise with God. It appears to be projected by the canyon goddesses.

A notable side effect of the barrier is that the energy from Arscil that pours into the areas it contains is more concentrated, meaning goddesses and beings can maintain physical form within the barrier. This is in contrast to other places where the power is less intensified, where the beings are still non-corporeal.

Remember in PCT that any mental structure is a physical structure with enough mental connection to the psychic element. Well, mental blocks are well recorded psychological structures that prevent a person from doing something even though they technically can. Perhaps the barrier is meant to be a psychological barrier the goddesses impose on themselves that limits their physical movements to the canyon. In this sense, their mental block is projected onto the real world as an actual location is space through which the goddesses and their extensions (the beings) cannot pass.

History[edit | edit source]

The barrier of the canyon was presumably developed when the Canyon Goddesses of Arscil descended onto Earth. Specifically, it was made by Azerai. It is now managed in its current form by the goddess of the canyon, Cyve, after Azerai's return to Arscil.

Relation to Kas[edit | edit source]

Kas likes to spend most of his time within the barrier, where he can expect to encounter the paranormal.
